Soul of Darkness
New ink drawing of a head.
Soul of Darkness, 2010, brush & ink on paper, 11" x 8.5".
Above: final version — some more darks & ink wash.
This is really very good. I have been following your drawings for a while. I wondered where you drew your style from? Van Gogh's exhibition held at the Royal Academy of Arts bears resemblances. Could this be an influence?
Thanks. While I like Van Gogh, I don't particularly count him as an influence. I'd be more inclined to name Blake, Redon, Ensor, Khnopff, Kubin, the old masters (Leonardo & Michelangelo especially), and many others too numerous to mention (or remember).
