Over the years, I've done many drawings & paintings (& now AI co-created images) derived from or inspired by Bosch's Tree Man (from the Garden of Earthly delights triptych, right panel). Here is the latest:

The Tree Man Waits

 Here is a new ink drawing from today, another variation on the theme of Bosch's Tree Man. I'm looking to do some more figurative drawings with groups of figures, perhaps. Stay tuned.

The Further Adventures of Bosch's Tree Man

This is a new drawing I did today as part of the Tree Man series...based of course on Hieronymus Bosch's creation in the right hand panel of the Garden of Earthly Delights triptych (which is in the Prado in Madrid, where I used to live many moons ago). The end purpose of all these Tree Man deptictions is probably to create a large-scale augmented reality (AR) piece of the Tree Man. This project is still developing, but expect more Tree Men to show up around here.

Tree Man Evolving

I'm continuing to work on the Tree Man object...my skills gradually get better & I replace & refine parts of him. The most recent addition is the boats at his "feet"...the original version by Bosch in the right panel of the Garden of Earthly Delights depicts him as having boats for shoes, a tavern inside his torso, as an allegory of drunkenness, it is assumed.

Tree Men Walking

It's been a busy Blender day today, as I've been attempting to build various creatures...this time the subject is Hieronymus Bosch's Tree Man, which I've made numerous variations of before. Below is a compilation of screen grabs from Blender, showing the character from different viewpoints. I'm not trying to recreate the original very faithfully, and my skills are still developing. I can always go back in & refine it as I get better at this.

Evocation of the Tree Man

This is my version of Bosch's Tree Man (also drawn by Breughel). Apart from being drawn to this image from Bosch's Hell panel of the Garden of Earthly Delights triptych (in the Prado Museum), I once linked my blog to a drawing of this, and now it comes up in a Google image search if you type in my name...so now, maybe this will come up instead...

Mostly, I darkened several areas & worked into them a bit more. I could probably continue, but I feel that it's done & enough is enough.

Here is a drawing (sketch, I guess) that I did yesterday & put on my other blog (the one that focuses more on older work), but I thought I'd also put it here. It's another version of my tree man theme, which probably comes from Hieronymus Bosch's tree man in the Garden of Earthly Delights right-hand "Hell" panel, that I used to see when I would visit the Prado.

I thought it was worth posting. Probably influenced by Bosch.
