Man's Head Over Palimpsest
The Thoughtful One
I was going to call it "The Thinker", but apparently someone else beat me to that title...
This was a drawing that I did a few weeks ago...I just tried darkening the background, & I think it improved it a lot.
The Thoughtful One, 2010, ink & acrylic on paper, 11" x 8.5".
The background dark gray tone is actually a mixture of ink & acrylic sludge.

Zeitgeist for Lowly
A friend in Chicago, the very fine artist & musician Tim Lowly, has honored me by using my painted drawing (for want of a better term) "Zeitgeist" on a poster for a concert event that he's performing in, with his Lowly Ensemble. Here's the poster with the details:
Please click the poster image for a much better view. If you're in the Chicago area on July 10, you should check out Tim's music.
The original artwork, Zeitgeist was done in 1998. Black pigment & acrylic medium on museum board, 40" x 32".

Head in Red and Black
I found a Rotring ArtPen in my studio, so I decided to try it out...the red ink was still in the barrel, but I put in a black cartridge I found...so the red lasted a while until the black took over...an interesting mistake, I thought.

Unfinished Head from 2001
I was just down in the basement going through boxes of papers etc. Came across a few pieces of art from years gone by...a few were worth scanning in...this one is a pen & ink drawing of a head from 2001 that is pretty good...it's "unfinished"...I'm not sure if I ever intended to do more...

A Conspiracy of Souls
A drawing on a slightly larger scale...a variation on the "Tree of Souls" motif I've used before.
A Conspiracy of Souls, 2010, brush & ink on paper, 14" x 11".
Image is slightly blurry, as it's too big for the scanner...
