In this piece, I perhaps wanted to create something that was at once funereal yet full of light, dark yet full of light, ghostly yet full of light.

The Ancient Tomb

With this small acrylic tondo I was aiming for a Bocklinesque (the painter of the Island of the Dead) atmosphere...evoking a nocturnal, haunting sense of mystery, with suspense and yet tranquility. Whether I succeeded in all of that or not, I think it works as an interesting piece.

A simple monochrome painting on Kraft cardstock...this one almost painted itself...

Figure Scaling an Obelisk (for JS)

This piece is unusual for me, in that it was inspired directly by a work from another artist...take a bow, Jim Steranko, I've appropriated your splash page from Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #1 from back in June 1968...this is my interpretation & done from memory, so hopefully I'm taking it in a slightly different direction here...

Nocturne

This new painting is one of several that have the title, "Nocturne". This is not so much recycling an idea as taking it & finding new ways to interpret it.
