It's a Strange World After All / AI video triptych

A new piece (though the central image was done a year or so ago, but just animated recently) combining three video looping animations into a triptych of equal parts. I've always been fond of this format, & also of many of the artists who've used it (Bosch, Breughel, Bacon, all the B's).

AI Bosch Triptych: The Gift

So I created a Bosch-style triptych in AI, with a central panel of a dark figure carrying a pink sphere, & the two outer panels depicting Heaven & Hell...on the left is the fountain of eternal life, & on the right is a tower over a fiery pit...two different gifts.

Triptych

I just made a (digital) triptych out of these three recent small monochrome paintings. I realized, when I placed them side by side, that they more or less lined up to make a new, composite image...this was an unintentional, unexpected benefit.

Dreamtime

This is another multi-panel painting of a visionary / mystical nature:

Study of Three Heads

This was a kind of experiment where I drew the 3 heads at the same time, moving from one to the other, then scanned them & combined them in Photoshop. I think it worked out quite well...I could have taken one long piece of paper to draw the 3 heads on, I suppose, but this way there is a little interruption in between each image that adds some kind of element, I think...
