The AI Epic series

This is a series that I wasn't planning to do, but it happened organically when I started experimenting with Leonardo.Ai's Universal Upscaler, which upscales (embiggens) but also adds in more than just interpolated detail. It really does very well working at a vast scale, although it sometimes gets carried away with itself, adding bizarre details (plus the usual extra limbs and the like), so I have to edit it from time to time. Below is a selection, you can see them all at: https://www.flickr.com/photos/billayton/albums/72177720318233270

The themes covered include the usuals: life, death, heaven, hell, good, bad, the past, the future, mythology, reality, and of course, our place in the universe.

AI Bosch Triptych: The Gift

So I created a Bosch-style triptych in AI, with a central panel of a dark figure carrying a pink sphere, & the two outer panels depicting Heaven & Hell...on the left is the fountain of eternal life, & on the right is a tower over a fiery pit...two different gifts.

Empyrean -- AI animation

This is my first attempt at animating an AI scene in Leonardo Ai. It's very short, so you can right-click on the play button in the lower left corner & choose "loop" to see it better. I also recommend making it full screen to see it more clearly, & choosing the highest quality available from the video settings (cog wheel icon).

Heaven & Hell Revisited

A short while ago I uploaded 2 small circular paintings (tondos), one with tiny figures (Doomed Souls), the other more of a "landscape" scene (Blue Heaven). It bothered me that they weren't more equivalent in nature, so I've made a new "heaven" piece (All the Stars in Heaven) as a replacement for the previous one. I hope this doesn't confuse anyone...

Heaven & Hell

As promised (previous post), here is another pairing related to Good & Evil, Heaven & Hell. They came out less as archetypal iconic images, which was the original intention, but more as quirky, off-kilter personal meditations on the themes, which might actually be a better result...

The Eye of Heaven

This was originally intended to be titled "The Storm that Raged Forever", until I realized that this was a better title.

The Spires of Heaven

Continuing on the mystical & visionary modality I've been working in recently, here is an image I've been intending to create for a while, of a glimpse of Heaven in the clouds:

The Four Last Things

Here is the sequence of four images from The Four Last Things (Death, Judgment, Heaven and Hell). Digitally combined together...ideally they would be displayed in separate frames with a modicum of space between each one.

Heaven

The third in the series of Four Last Things (Death, Judgment, Heaven and Hell).

Heaven

New small painted study:

Heaven, 2009, acrylic on board, 11" x 14".

From a proposed series of the Four Last Things (Death, Judgment, Heaven & Hell). Difficult to get in focus with the camera, which seems appropriate. A goodly amount of titanium white was used in this painting, which should come as no surprise.
