Head Replacement Theory (videos)

It was a common theme in Surrealism to replace the head of a human (preferably in a suit of some kind) with that of an animal's, or even an inanimate object. Plus, if you do this in sepia, it looks old-timey. If you do it in video, even better. So, here are some recent short AI videos (& 1 still image) where I have in fact replaced the heads. From top to bottom: The Howler, Eguardo, The Grandfather of the Sea, Monsieur Le Pachyderme & El Perro.

The One Who Couldn't Stop Evolving

Another new oil painting on plywood panel, this figurative piece depicts a being in a constant state of evolution...which might not be a bad idea for all of us (?)

The Shootist WIP

This is a work-in-progress painting of a modified head...many of my works feature somewhat surrealistic heads. Also has an anti-war / anti gun violence aspect to it. I think it may be mostly done (?), but time will tell on that. When I have the final version, I'll put it up on this page.

Update: I've added the final version below the unfinished one.

They Did Not Listen

Drawn with an artist marker on tracing paper, as I have a pile of that stuff lying around.
