...And here is a new drawing.

Pallas Athene

I haven't done much artwork over this summer...been busy with other things. However, here is a new small acrylic painting done on a scrap of plywood...more to come, as it seems I have some work in a group show in a small local gallery coming up soon...

Strange Figurations at the Limner Gallery

I just received a packet of postcards for this show in the mail. My painting ("The Man Who Saw the World From Inside a Protective Bubble") is not on the postcard (it's a group show), so I'm posting it below, along with the front & back of the postcard invite. The Limner Gallery is in Hudson, NY.

Final Version

I believe that this is the finished version of Beyond the Call of Silence...

Beyond the Call of Silence, 2014, acrylic on plywood, 24" x 18". The piece was painted from the background forward, as it turns out. This was not intentional, just the way it happened. The background, the partial figure, the small face & then the leaves appeared pretty much in that sequence. In this way the piece somewhat resembles a collage. Although the piece has numerous flaws & oddities, it hangs together & I am pretty sure that it is done.

Beyond the Call of Silence (continued)

This is the latest iteration of the painting (see posts below)...getting closer still...
