 So, I was in a bit of an Egyptian AI mood today...

Colossus Variation (AI generated image)

 Sometimes, using Leonardo Ai, it manages to achieve good results very quickly. Other times, I have to give up on it & assume it doesn't understand what I'm trying to evoke. In the case below, it did a pretty good job, all 4 of the original images generated were potentially usable. This one could ideally use a bit of tweaking, the giant foot of the subsidiary sculpture stands out, as does the inconsistency of sailing vessels depicted...but that's part of the fun of AI.

Destroyer

Another painting from the "Book of Revelations" series, this one done in basically monochrome hues. The giant figure looming over the world theme is one I've dealt with several times before...

I'm enjoying the depth & texture of using oil paint after such a long time. Here is another small painting of a giant figure in a landscape...it also references my Narcissus painting (the semi-fetal figure and all).

Partly inspired by Goya's painting The Colossus, also partly inspired by a Japanese anime series called Attack on Titan (which I struggled through, as I don't much care for anime in general), and mostly inspired by the fact that I like the idea of colossi...

A new drawing that came out better than I thought it might:

It has an endearing clumsiness that I like. Also takes me back to those early 60s (or late 50s, even) Jack Kirby / Stan Lee comics where a giant monster would be destroying a city while the terrified populace (or a half dozen of them) would scream out of the lower part of the image. I didn't put in the terrified populace. Also influenced by those Breughel paintings etc. where the landscape stretches off to infinity with a seascape & boats etc. I didn't put the boats in either.

This one is technically unfinished, with just the underpainting & the "false highlights" (I don't know if that's a technical term or not, but it sort of describes the function of the way I indicate where the highlights might be). When I looked at the unfinished state of this one, I liked the dreamlike atmosphere it had, so decided to leave it in this rather uncooked state, for now, at least.

New large-ish drawing. I mentioned a while ago that I wanted to work on a more epic scale, after last year I spent mostly on quite small works, including the pieces for the book with Eliot Katz, which were mostly drawings of 9 inches by 6 inches. So, this is a step in that intended new direction. Also, I hadn't done an intricate drawing on this scale for a while. Expect more in this vein, hopefully going up soon...
