 Here's another image I've been playing with, a Narcissus variation. I used Leonardo Ai's "Canvas" feature to interactively draw parts of the image, & also used text prompts to define it.

Narcissus (digital)

It's more difficult to sculpt a figure in Blender than, say, a head. Maybe it's the way I'm going about it, starting with a sphere & pulling out parts, filling them in, smoothing them out, rinse, repeat...

It's my intention to reproduce some of my artworks in 3D, and making them available in some way as AR (augmented reality) pieces. Narcissus seemed like a good place to begin. This piece is by no means finished, but it's a good start.

Narcissus Revisited

This is a brush & ink drawing of a familiar motif. There are many versions I've done of Narcissus, & there will quite possibly be many more. I don't like to repeat myself excessively, generally speaking, but there are themes that I return to again & again, & this is one of them. I also try to find something new in familiar images each time.

That's what the text on the image below says, apparently. It's my "Narcissus" painting from 1991, which has been edited a bit. I wonder if the "always bad" thing refers to borrowing artwork from other web sites & not crediting it...I think maybe it does. From a Russian web site that I'm not going to link to.

Big in Brazil

Every once in a while I do a Google reverse image search to see if my artwork has appeared in any odd places...just did one tonight & found the flyer(?) below, from Salvador (Bahia) in Brazil. It looks pretty good, even though the colors have bled a little, probably because of the JPG compression. I don't know if this exists in printed form, but I'd like to get hold of a hard copy if it does...if anyone can find one & send it to me, I'd be quite happy...

The painting is, of course, my Narcissus from 1991. Happy New Year to all, by the way.

Fair Narcissus

Another entry in the occasional Narcissus series. This one was drawn with the pen brush, which had run out of ink, so I used it as a regular brush, dipping it in the ink pot. It gave a slightly ghostly, ethereal effect.

Narcissus' Mirror

This is a new piece in ink on cardboard (taken originally from the back of a sketchbook) with no white highlighting. It's a very simple piece, but effective for all that, I think.

Ironically, now that I've finished the Silverpoint a Day blog, I can relax, as it were, & really get into the medium, without the pressure of having to create a new piece on a daily basis. My productivity will probably increase.
